Jesus on FIRE in Cincinnati!

So, last night, my little town and southwest Ohio lost a major landmark. His name - Jesus - Touchdown Jesus to be more specific. It's a statue of Jesus with his arms out that stands 62 feet tall by 40 feet wide and resides on the property of Solid Rock Church on I75. The real name of the statue is King of Kings, but it is lovingly known around here, and across the nation, as Touchdown Jesus and sometimes Big Butter Jesus (as made famous by Heywood Banks).

A little after 11pm last night we had a terrible storm, the statue was struck by lightning and set ablaze. There is nothing left of it this morning but the steel structure. The church promises Jesus will be back and this time made in a less flammable material. Unfortunately, the church also suffered damage to their amphitheater and ,with the loss of the sculpture and the other damage, they are looking at nearly $750,000 worth of damage. But it's a large church, about 4000 members, and I'm sure they will all rally together and the damage will be fixed quickly. Good luck to them and I, for one, will be looking forward to the new Jesus sculpture!
